No more swaddle!

After 3 months we have finally said bye bye to the swaddle!

I loved it so much in the beginning because it helped Maddie sleep so well, then she started getting to where she could almost roll herself over so we started weaning her from the swaddle. I started by leaving her right arm out for a week, then both arms for a week then no swaddle at all. She really seems to like it so much better, mostly because she can suck her thumb.

It's so sweet to hear her on the monitor sucking her thumb:)

Learning new things...

This week Maddie has learned several new things.
I haven't noticed that she is teething much this week but she does like to suck her thumb, a lot!

I learned how to hold on to my rattle and move it around.

I learned how to put my rattle in my mouth.

I learned how to pick up my rattles all by myself.

Saturday our town had a day of fundraising for the firefighters to buy some new equipment. One of the events for the day was a teeny tot contest, so we entered Maddie.
She didn't win, and thats ok. We still had fun!

Nanna visits...

My mom came to visit this weekend. LOTS of fun was had! I wish we didn't live so far away.

Here are my 2 projects that I worked on this weekend.

This Halloween wreath was given to me by a friend and I took it apart and changed it up a little bit.

I completely redid my fall wreath and now I love it!

My mom watched Maddie on Friday night so William and I could go out a celebrate our upcoming 7th wedding anniversary. We had lots of fun! We went to dinner at Abuelo's then off to play some Putt-Putt(which I must add I won!:)), then over to fast lane and last but not least Yum-Yos!

My sweet little 14 week old Madelyn is changing right before my very eyes!

This week she has started teething, holding her toys in her hand(and hitting herself in the head:/), trying to roll over and doing mini push ups.

That's alot of new things for one week!

We had Maddie's 3 month pictures taken this week by RenaeBurtPhotography She did such an amazing job! Maddie wasn't in the greatest of moods, since she has started teething...YIKES!:/ None the less the ones we did get are absouletly BEAUTIFUL!!!!

3 months old

Madelyn Grace

You are 3 months old today.
I think you weigh about 12 1/2 pounds.
You are wearing size 1 diaper, but soon will be in size 2.
You are wearing 0-3 month clothes and some 3-6 month clothes even though they are still a bit big.
You had a good schedule going of taking 2-2 hour naps, going to bed at 6:30, up to eat between 9-10 and 3-5 then up for the day around 9, BUT your naps got messed up when we took you home over the 4th of July. Now you are taking around 3 hours worth of naps spread between 3 naps, bed by 630, up around 9 to eat and again between 3-5 and up for the day around 9.
You like you carseat as long as we don't put you in it for hours...
You liked to be swaddled at bedtime and nap time, we started leaving your left arm out of the swaddle so we can wean you from the swaddle, yesterday we started leaving both arms out of your swaddle. You seem to like your arm out because you can suck your thumb because you will only take your paci on your terms!
We start bath at 545, read a book and rock you until you are drowsy but still awake.
You have really started cooing in the last week and a half. You talked ALOT to your papaw.
I love watching you change everyday.
Your newest thing is when I put you in your Bumbo you stare really hard at the toys and pull them towards you.
We are working hard on Tummy Time, you did 11 minutes this week...YEAH!
You are really into watching TV, particularly Spongebob Squarepants...you can thank your nana and papaw for introducing you to those:)
I really think you are teething, you drool a lot and suck on your lip but I don't feel anything yet on your gums.
While we were visiting family you slept 12 hours straight a couple of times.

Saturday we took Madelyn to meet my great aunt and uncle. This is the uncle who married William and I.

Later in the day we went up to the church I used to go to so Maddie could meet my cousin Courtney, she's my 2nd cousin.

Sunday we got up and headed home. We left at 9 and got home about 3.
We stopped at 5guys in Little Rock and then again in Clarksville. There was plenty of crying but this trip was much better!

Happy 26th Birthday

Friday was my 26th birthday.

We got up and headed to my moms.
I spent the day with my family since my brother was headed back to Germany. William went and had lunch with a friend.

Week home

Tuesday morning Daddy Bill cooked bacon, eggs and homemade biscuits. It was delish!
After breakfast William and I got dressed and headed to Oxford to do a little shopping and have some time to ourselves.

While we were in Oxford we stopped at one of our favorite chicken places, Abners.

Wednesday morning Daddy Bill made sausage gravy and homemade biscuits.

We just hung around the house all day and Little Chris and Lilly came over to see Maddie. Lilly is too cute, she says "my Maddie"

Thursday morning we had homemade French toast and bacon. Best French toast ever!

Thursday evening William took me to the Como Steakhouse for my birthday dinner. Papaw watched Maddie for us.

Happy 4th of July!

Monday when we woke up we walked down the road to Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Kellys house. I think Maddie was still tired because she only let Uncle Jimmy hold her and then I held her while she napped and we visited. It was also Uncle Jimmys birthday! Happy Birthday. I didn't get a picture because I forgot my camera at the house:(

We walked back down to Papaws because it was almost time for Maddie to eat again, after she ate she and Papaw played. I am jealous because Maddie talked and cooed with Papaw louder than I've ever heard:)

On Monday afternoon we took Maddie over to a friends house to meet them. Shannon is like a brother to William and he and his wife had a little girl, Eliana in September. It was so sweet watching Eliana, she had sympathy cries when Maddie cried.

We headed back to Papaws and Maddie napped in her car seat for a while. When she woke up I fed her, we took a family picture and had the find our 3rd outfit of the day. Good thing mommy packed extra;)

After we got our new outfit we walked down the road to introduce Maddie to momma Lillian.

Maddie wasn't too happy by this point. She was hot and tired so we striped her down to her diaper and Papaw got her to sleep. We visited until she woke up then we headed home for bath time!
