My first Easter

We celebrated Maddie's first Easter on Sunday and it was so sweet:) Here are her Easter outfits.

Here she is with her Easter basket, bunny ears and "Some Bunny Love ME" onesie. The butt of the pants have a bunny on them, so cute!
William's aunt sent this for Maddie. It says "This is my Easter best"

On Thursday of last week Maddie had her first Dr. appointment and was down 9 ounces from when she was born, weighing her in at 8 pounds 5 ounces. Monday we went back to the Dr. for a weight check and in 4 days my sweet little girl had gained 5.5 ounces! WOOHOO! She is now at 8 pounds 10.5 ounces.

William's parents left to go back home on Sunday, so we have been getting settled in just the 3 of us. William has been home from work with me so it will be another adjustment when he goes back to work, but I just love it! I never imagined how much love a little one could bring us:)

Maddie is such a wonderful baby! She has been sleeping for 5 hours at night. Kinda freaks me out, since the Dr says she should be eating every 3-4 hours. So, we shall see how she is doing when we go back to the Dr.

We go back to the Dr. on Monday for her 2 week check up.

Our first few days at home...

We have been home since Tuesday afternoon. So far everything has been going well. The first night was rough, but just took a little bit of figuring out little Miss Madelyn.

All of William's family has been here visiting and the grandparents wanted a family picture. We are all in the picture, can't say we are all looking. That's what our pictures will be like from now on.

We didn't have anyone to take the picture so we sat it in front of the TV and all you can see is Maddie's bow. :) She's in there though.

Yesterday nana and papow played with little miss while she sunbathed in the window for a little while to help get rid of her jaundice.
She loved being in the sun.
We also got our first sponge bath yesterday as well. She actually really liked it! She wanted to look in the mirror at me the whole time.
These are from Thursday just before we went to Madelyn's newborn Dr. appointment. She weighed in at 8 pounds 5 ounces. We go back on Monday for another weight check to make sure she is gaining weight now.

This is how I spend most of my days.

Madelyn is here!!!

I am proud to announce that my sweet little girl made her grand appearance on
Sunday April 17, 2011 at 8:04 am weighing in at 8 pounds 14 ounces and measuring 21 inches long.
She is absolutely perfect!
She has a head full of dark brown hair to match her daddy and my nose.

Saturday evening I decided I wanted to see if I could put myself into labor, so I mowed half of the front yard and it seems to work! So, after timing my contractions for a few hours and finding that they were 3-5 minutes apart we headed to the hospital. My contractions kept up for quiet a while through the night. The Dr. was going to send me home but they found that I was having high blood pressure so the Dr. wanted me to rest through the night and have a c-section first thing in the morning. I didn't rest much in that terribly uncomfortable bed. When I got comfortable Madelyn would move and they would have to come adjust the monitor so they could get a heartbeat on her.

Here are some pictures while we were in the hospital. They are not in any order.

38 weeks...

Today I am 38 weeks!
EXCITING!!!
We went for a non-stress test today and everything looked good with Madelyn. I have made some progress and am dilated to 1 1/2 cm and 50% effaced. Not sure if that will get us anywhere before the c-section but we shall see.

37 weeks, 4 days

We went for a non-stress test this morning and after being on the monitor for almost an hour Maddie wasn't being very reactive as she normally is. Which means that when she moves her heartbeat goes up so much over a certain amount of time. Usually she passes with flying colors within a few minutes of the Dr. "buzzing" her. This time after being buzzed twice she still wasn't doing a whole lot. My Dr. said that since we know what she normally does that she didn't feel comfortable having to squint to look at the monitor strip to see if Maddie had passed or not so she was going to send us for an ultrasound. Which was fine by me! I would rather be safe, than sorry. Not one minute did I really worry. It is all in God's hands. The Dr. was pretty sure that everything would turn out ok but just to be certain. If everything wasn't ok then we would be having Maddie today.

So we went to be worked in for our ultrasound. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long. This was just a regular ultrasound but it is called a BioPhysical Profile because they look at many different areas on the baby. The baby gets a score from 0-10 overall. Each area is worth 2 points each. Breathing, Extremity movement(upper and lower), Whole body movement, amount of amniotic fluid and non-stress test. Maddie did wonderful! She scored a 8! The one thing she failed was the non-stress test. So all is well and we shall continue to let her bake in mommy's little oven for a few more days.

We go back on Thursday for another non-stress test.
Only 10 more days until my c-section!!!

37 weeks

Yesterday I turned 37 weeks! We had a checkup, Maddie looked good on the monitor and I am not dilated any more than I was 2 weeks ago. So I guess she will be arriving on her scheduled day! We go back to the Dr again on Monday.

Today we went for our non-stress test. Madelyn looked good on the monitor. I am just waiting to hear back from the Dr. office for when they have scheduled my c-section.
Now, we just wait! We go back to the Dr. on Thursday for another non-stress test.

I ordered these off of Etsy to match her bedding. They turned out perfect!

My friend Katie painted this. I love that the elephant has pink toenails!
Madelyn's extensive bow collection...oops! I think I made a "few".
Looking above the bookcase.
My friend Tiffany ordered this off Etsy. It's so cute, I love that the little monkey has a bow in her hair!:)
These are the things on Madelyn's dresser. This painting was also done by my friend Katie. The little girl leaning on Jesus hand use to be my grandma's. The dress on the hanger picture from was a gift from a cousin at my shower. The little keepsake box was a gift from my friend Mandy. The "My first year" picture from was a gift from William's aunt.
