Fireworks at the Crosses/Summer Freedom Celebration

Our church had the 2nd Annual Fireworks at the Crosses last night, it was once again...AMAZING! This year we were lucky enough to be able to sit on the East side of the building in the shade thanks to Caleb & Leah Mitchell saving a spot after church...

While we were there a sweet friend, Katie Cole, took this picture for me. Thanks Katie!

Just to show the view we had, we took too many pictures to post them all.

Show Us Where You Live Friday...Master Bedroom

Kelly is doing this and you can view her blog to see more.

Master Bedroom Edition

I am not at all happy with our bedroom furniture, except for the fact it was free! That always makes it a plus, someone my mom worked with gave it to me when I was a Junior in high school, mind you half of the knobs are gone one the dresser and the light bridge doesn't work. I would love to paint it all black and get rid of the light bridge and cabinets and get some nightstands and lamps, but that will have to wait until I graduate and until we get to that step of our debt snowball/financial plan.

This is looking in our room from the door, that is in the hall. The door on the left of the room is to the bathroom.
This is our Queen size bed, and just as that statement says it's only made for a queen and since this queen got married I can tell you it's not nearly big enough! I definitly love when we stay at a hotel so I can have my space. Don't get me wrong I love to cuddle but when I am trying to sleep I hate to be HOT! The little bed in the lower left corner is our dogs bed, only problem is he refuses to sleep in it the cat sleeps on it instead, go figure!

This is the frame hanging on the wall, looks very different because this picture was taken when I had it hanging in the hall. I move things in my house alot when I get tired or bored with the room.
The door here is looking into the hall. The sconces on the wall on each side of the dresser mirror are from Wal-Mart.

My hubby's nice collection of hats there on the lamp, that's usually how they stay. This used to be our living room TV, the table that the TV is sitting on came from an estate sale that my mom got me for $10. It's real wood and I love it, but it has to be black too if I paint everything else black. Still waiting on that day, my summer seems to be too short to do all that I planned.

Crafting...

The last day of school, Signed, Sealed and Delivered was having a warehouse sale and I went with a friend, so I could keep my self under control!:) I got these 3 red boxes with lights in them for $10, normally $40. I love them! I had seen them in a tour of home's that I went to at Christmas time 2 years ago and wanted some, just not for $40. I bought the ribbon at the Associate Store and glued it on tonight. I am not super happy about the bow I made for the top, but it will do. Once I put it up at Christmas I may have to work on it some more. Until then, this will do.

We went canoeing on Saturday and it is now Thursday and my leg still looks like this, YUCK! It hurts! All of my other spots that were burnt are gone except this one, I wonder if it has anything to do with I dropped a iron on my leg in that same spot when I was a teenager. I just hope it goes away soon, I would like to enjoy some of the incredibly HOT weather at some point before school starts back.

Accident waiting to happen...

Last night, somehow I managed to run my arm across a tack that was in the wall pull it ou and stab it in my arm. I was working a project in my closet, all of my necklaces and bracelets used to be on tacks or nails, until last night. I bought these at hobby lobby for half price and whola! It will do until I get that jewelry box I want.

Yesterday I went to the Dr. about my cold/sore throat. I showed her my sunburn that I have had since last Saturday and she was a little concerned. She told me that it was a 2nd degree burn, and gave me some cream to rub on it and make it better. Well, it's worse today than it was last Saturday when it happened. It's on my chest as well, but my leg hurts worse because it's constantly moving....I really wish it would just heal. I think I got the memo, not only put on sunscreen, REAPPLY!

This is my pity cat, looking as though she is trying to hand herself on the grill...

Nursing Canoe Trip...

Yesterday, Saturday, we had a nursing student canoe trip. Turned out not that many people came, but the few that did had a BLAST! We started an hour later than we thought, but that's ok. We were all good and awake by the time we got in the water.
We went to The King's River in Eureka Springs, AR. It's alot like the Elk River that's in MO minus the boob flashing and beer cans on the bottom of the river. King's River has alot more spots that you have to be good at manuvering or you will flip and be in the water scrambling to get your things and keep your boat from flipping!

I think for the group of canoes we had our total dumps for the day was 9 or more. William and I started off well, with only 1 dump compared to the others 2. But, after some minor diagreements and my nothing can go right, we dumped 2 more times and the last time I thought I was going to drowned! Ha, thankfully I didn't. Just came away from the day with some minor scrapes on my legs, a bruised hand and a MAJOR sunburn.

Note to self: Reapply sunscreen, OFTEN!

I did use sunscreen but by the way I look you would think I didn't. We got in the water at 10 and got off the water at 5:30. I put on suncreen at 7:30. I guess I lost my mind or something!

Me and mister sun will be taking a break from each other for quiet a few days!

None the less, it was a FUN trip!

I was trying to choke him...haha:)

Show Us Where You Live Friday...Laundry Room Edition

Laundry Room Edition

Kelly is doing this and you can view her
blog to see more.

We do not have much of a laundry room but I am very thankful for what we have. Both of the apartments we lived in didn't have a laundry room. One had doors that closed just in front of the washer and dryer and the other was a top over bottom that had nothing in front of it. So here, what ya see is what ya get.

Casting Crowns in the house!

William suprised me on Monday evening with tickets to see Casting Crowns tonight. I had been asking about going, but wasn't super excited about how much the tickets were. I am so glad we went! I was A-W-E-S-O-M-E! Here is a picture of us waiting on the concert to start and a picture of the concert. I hope they come back to town again!

June trip home...

We left for our 4 day trip home on Thursday evening when William got off work. In the 4 1/2 years that we have lived in NWA I have never driven from NWA to West Memphis when I have gone with William, I would drive some but not much! This time I did it! I finally drove the whole way, and let him sleep. I was pretty motivated.

The cat wasn't to excited about this trip, she hissed at me and clawned me when I took her to the car and then hissed at Jack as well. Man, she was man! But, that was all over once she got to my mom's house and had stairs to fun up and down.

Friday my mom and I went Thrift Store shopping. It was fun! I didn't find what I was looking for but did find a few things.

My mom and I got home just in time for the big storm, that had produced a tornado in NWA, to hit. After that passed by, William and I left with Jack and headed to Mississippi. We arrived at our destination an hour and a half later, 30 minutes longer than normal. Mostly due to mishaps from the storm. First there were redlights out in Memphis, then a power line had fallen on a trip and last we saw a truck that had been wrecked, still not sure how, in the middle of an intersection with no one around. Strange!

After such a big day, William thought it was funny to take a picture of me passed out on the couch. I was tired! I thought it was storming again, when he took the picture, I thought it was lightening and opened my eyes to find him sitting there with the camera in hand. HA!

Knocked out on the couch

Saturday we were off to the Wedding, which was the main reason for the trip home. A friend of William's that he grew up with and was like a little sister to him was getting married.

William and I before the wedding started.

CONGRATS to Will and Pam!

They rode off in this Olde Timey Police car.

William & the BEAUTIFUL Bride Pam.

This lovely Tree Frog spent the entire evening on the front door staring at us!

The rest of the weekend was so unplanned, and we loved it! First time I think that has ever happened.

The many faces of Lilly! I can't believe she is 15 months old, wow how time flies!

William getting a airplane twirl. I don't think this has ever happened before, but now that William had lost so much weight he and has brother might have a fair wrestling match!:)

Our animals on the way home, I think they are tired!

Once again, God has shown up in my time of need...

First and foremost, I am thanking God for providing once again!

I received my first scholarship ever last Fall. It was a total suprise to me when I found out I had received a scholarship, now to find out that this scholarship will be rolling over and I will recieve it again for the next school year is such a blessing and I am in pure amazement right now. After my run with the hospital this Spring it left me wondering where the money was going to come from to finish school, since I didn't get the summer intership that I had applied for.

Once again, God showed up and provided. I suppose not being able to go to sleep was a blessing in disguise, otherwise I may not have checked my school email for another week or so....:)

Show Us Where You Live Friday...Bathroom

Bathroom Edition

Kelly is doing this and you can view her blog to see more.

We have a Master and Guest Bath. I did not pick out the themes for either, my father-in-law got them for me when he was working for the Springs Manufacturer before we were married. I quickly grew to love them when they were FREE!!! William likes black, and the palm trees make me think of the beach.

This is looking into the bathroom from the hallway.

This is looking to the right from the door, I would like to do more with the wreath but am not sure what to do.

This is looking to the left from the door, I got this at Gordman's it was from Linen N Things, so I got it dirt cheap.

This is standing by the shower looking towards the vanity, by the door. Most of these things came from the sample store. The picture on the wall, the lamp and brown picture frame came from garage sales. :)

This is looking in the bathroom door for our bedroom looking at the shower curtain. We don't really need a shower curtain, but I hate the doors on the shower and it was free, so he it is.

This is the vanity, part of what sold us our house, was double vanity and double walk-in closets.

This picture is in our bathroom, it is a picture of the front of our house.

This is standing at the other end of the bathroom. The door on the left is William's closet and the door on the right goes to our bedroom.

And this is at the other end, by the toilet. The door on the right is my closet and the one on the left is the linen closet.

These are the callalillies that are in our bathroom. This is one of my favorite flowers, and this was the only room left to put them in.

Show Us Where You Live Friday...Office

Office Edition

Kelly is doing this and you can view her blog to see more.

This would be our office, nothing big and spectacular but it works for us. I do hate the desk, but it is what worked in our apartment so it will have to work for now.

This is looking into our office from the hallway. This is a picture of our niece, she is the first and only grandchild for now. You will find pictures of her all over my house, we love this little girl so much!

This is the closet wall in the office. On the left side are pictures of the Ole Miss campus, on the right side are multiple pictures, birth announcements and Thank You cards. I won the card holder at Bunco and it works perfect!

This is the ginoramous window in the office. It's either really hot or really cold. No happy medium, which explains the curtains. I don't really like them but they do help keep the office warm, or some what warmer in the winter. On the wall is a picture of Colonel Reb.
This is the bookshelf, if you look closely the entire right side of the book case are nursing school books, that are resting nicely for the summer. This entire bookshelf use to hold only William's books, now 3/4 of it holds my books.

On the left is my Senior picture from West Memphis High School, it was taken in June 2002. The picture on the right is William's graduation picture from Ole Miss School of Business in May 2005, he actually finished in December 2004.

The lovely desk, this is actually pretty clean but yet still very cluttered.

Recent purchase from Wal-Mart for the Office to prevent us from burning 3 bulbs, when we only need 1.

The top left picture is me and my mom at Christmas, the bottom left is me and my dad at Christmas and the picture on the right is me and my brothers in March of this year.

The picture on the left is William, his mom, and 2 brothers on the weekend of his graduation from Ole Miss in May 2005. The top right is William and his dad after his Ole Miss graduation, and the bottom right is William Dad and our niece.

Rylee, had to be in the picture too, :). The chair she is sitting in is the chair I usually sit in for our budget committee meetings. The picture on the wall, I bought the poster off E-bay for William for our first Christmas married and got it framed for him our 2nd Christmas married.

So that's the Office. Hopefully one day, we will no longer have an office and just have laptops, but for now this does it's job!
