We started with a ultrasound that showed his left kidney measured 8.3cm. His last ultrasound it measured 8.6cm, before his surgery it was 9.1cm. From watching the ultrasound be done we didn't see a great difference.
Dr Cannon looked at the ultrasound, and thinks the kidney looks better even though the size of the kidney hasn't decreased a lot. Factoring in growth and the fact of how large the kidney was before he didn't seem real concerned. The radiologist did not agree and noted no change since the last ultrasound.
So Dr Cannon gave William and I the choice to have a Renogram in 3-4 months to check the function of the kidney as well as how well the kidney is draining now or follow up with a ultrasound and check up in 1 year. We decided to come back in 1 year.
Now the hard part for this momma is to have faith that we made the right decision. The momma, nurse and inquiring mind in myself wants to have the Renogram done just to be sure.
So, until next April as long as will shows no signs of problems related to his kidney we will wait.
