Bilateral Myringotomy

Aka Tubes

Maddie got her tubes bright and early this morning. We had to arrive at 645am. Maddie was all smiles and playing when we first arrived, until I guess she decided it was to early to be awake and she was hungry.

Here she is playing in the lobby waiting on her turn to be called back.

We didn't wait more than 15 minutes before they came and got us. Then we were in a small room to talk with the Dr and Anesthesia. That took about 10 minutes and they came and got her. She was gone all of 9 minutes. I didn't even have time to do all of my Bible reading for the day, it was that fast!

She came back and was absolutely mad at the whole world. She had a little juice, rested on me, cried, rested some more, cried more, rested on daddy, cried more, then I nursed her and we go to leave. She was really fussy in the car and fell asleep on the way home. We were in the car on the way home by 8am.

She took a small nap and for up and had yogurt and several snacks before taking another nap. She was super fussy and would cry for no reason but nothing a little love and cuddle couldn't fix. She later took. 1.5 hour nap and then had lunch. We went out and about for the afternoon and she took a 20 min nap in the car. Was really good while we dropped off our consignment clothes and then fell asleep in the car on the way home after we left the sample store.

Here's one of the few sweet smiles I received today. I just live that smile!

The sample store is usually a hit or miss kinda thing.

Today was a hit!

I have been looking for yard toys for Maddie that don't cost over $100, which are hard to find.

This super cute little house was only $40! At Walmart it's $130. I was so excited!

She loves the super cute little house! She would walk around it and when I would bang on it so would she.

She would open and close the door and go in and out. So sweet! I can't believe how big she is!

Still a little fussy but better than earlier.

Hopefully tomorrow will show much success for the surgery.

Girls Weekend

Daddy was out of town this weekend so it was just me and Maddie.

I will just say it was rough! I hope the tubes tomorrow make her feel much better!

I feel bad for her but have ran out of options until surgery.

Poor gal:(

So...

What's better than all of the toys she has...a dog toy, ha!

Here she is sitting on the very edge of my knee bouncing. So sweet!

Heading out for our long Saturday walk.

She didn't feel good but loved the sunshine and breeze, that she fell asleep. That never happens in her stroller anymore.

She got to have Macaroni & Cheese for the very first time.

After trying to eat all of Daddy's leftover potato from McAlisters last week, I figured she might want something new.

Sheathe loved it!

We went to this half price consignment sale Saturday morning and found this super cool bath toy for $5. It spits out bubbles and Maddie loves it! She talks to it alot!

Poor gal laid in the floor for her little melt downs this weekend and I wanted to remember how tiny she is having a fit now for when she is a teen with a attitude. Then I can wish for this!;)

1st tooth

I forgot to blog about this but I will now. On Valentine's day Maddie got her 1st tooth. Lower left front tooth.

Today she is getting her lower right front tooth.

70 in February.

Yesterday it was 70 outside, so we spent quiet a bit of time outside.

Maddie loves being outside and loves swinging.

We stopped by the park as she just laughed and waved as I pushed her.

Then we went for a afternoon stroll to the mailbox.

I can't believe she will be 1 in 7 weeks. Where has this last year gone?

ENT appointment

Maddie had her ENT appointment today and will be getting tubes put in very soon. The Dr said with my family history of having lots of ear infections as a kid myself, a brother who had tubes put in, the fact that she only has 1 tooth so far, has had 5 different antibiotics and it still has fluid means that this would be the best option.

When we arrived to the Dr office Maddie did not want to stay in her stollen so I let her walk around, which she loved.

Then she decided that she wanted everyone to hear her and pay attention to her...ha!

I will be glad once these tubes get placed. Hopefully it will mean for more restful nights and less fussy days.

Sunday before church Maddie was not feeling well do she sat on the couch with me for a little bit and was being goofy looking in the camera.

I walked outside for something on Monday and when I came back this was what I saw.

So sweet!

Maddie is still not feeling well, her ears are giving her a rough time.
She fell asleep in my lap after I fed her on Monday. So sweet but I wish she felt better.

Maddies last ride in her Jumperoo. Look at that tongue.

This afternoon she laid in the recliner on me watching The Backyardigans for a short break.

Then she got down and wanted to be in the tv!

Pretties...

Maddie has been putting these around her neck so I made her a necklace and bracelet out of them. The bracelet fell off but he left the necklace on and played for the longest. So sweet!

Training her early;)

I got this sold and now the little stinker wants to sit in it without acting like she's being punished. She played for about 15 minutes and was done. Typical!

10 months

You are 10 months old today.
You weigh 21 1/2 pounds.
You are wearing size 3 diaper.
You are wearing 9-12 month clothes.
You are wearing size 3 and 4 shoes.
You have mastered crawling and can get anywhere in a hurry!
You take giant side to side steps around the coffee table and will stand up anywhere as long as you can touch something.
You have one tooth that I can feel and barely see.
You talk alot now. You say Dada, Papaw, Mama, Ba, Da.
You love to eat. I haven't given you anything yet that you don't like. You LOVE cheese!
You have had a ear infection for so long now that you havne't been taking very good naps. Maybe 30 minutes to an hour once to twice a day. It's never the same.
You wave to anybody you see and love to give sweet smiles.
You have had a ear infection for a while that you can't get over after 5 different antibiotics so we are going to the ENT on Wednesday.

Food...

Maddie thinks she needs to be in the fridge anytime the door opens.

Silly girl.

Oh my ears!

I took Maddie back to the Dr today about her ears because we are on day 9 of antibiotics and she doesn't really seem any better. So they gave her a shot, we go back for another tomorrow and we have a ENT appointment on next Wednesday.

Praying for some relief for my little sweetie soon!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!

So excited to celebrate Maddies's first!

Daddy got this little sweetie a balloon, a pillow pet and a Leap Frog Alphabet Fridge Phonics.

If you can't tell she loves the balloon!

She loves the sound it makes.

For several years now we have gone out for a nice dinner the weekend before Valentine's day to avoid the crowds and go to Chickfila on Valentine's day. It is actually very nice and I hope we keep this tradition so that Maddie can come along for the fun!

Here is Maddie and I before heading to Chickfila.

Here are my 2 Valentine's.

Love them!

These head hearts were in my Valentine's decoration bin and Maddie loves playing with them.

Snow!

We got our first snow of 2012 and it was very nice. Just enough for Maddie to play in but not enough that we were stuck home, because I still made it to the gym.

Maddie loved the snow! She even ate it;)

Ears...

Last weekend Daddy played in a tennis tournament and we went to cheer him on. He played 3 matches all on Saturday! He lost the 1st match, won the 2nd and lost the 3rd. The match that he won was a marathon! He played for 2 hours!

We are so proud of him!

Monday I took Maddie
Back to the DR because after a week of our 3rd antibiotic she was still pulling at her ears. The DR gave her a different antibiotic and we Pray that it is working!

Tuesday we had lunch with Daddy! Here is Maddie trying to drive:)

This is what happens in the bathroom while I try to pee.

This was what she got into in the time it took me to potty.

This is the trouble she got into while I waged my hands.

It's always excitement around here!

Do all babies do this?

She kinda looks like a puppy carrying his bone around.

We went back to the Pediatrician on Wednesday because she still didn't seem any better, but turns out it was starting to look a little better. Yeah!

She wouldn't give up the Butt Paste for the picture.

Yesterday afternoon she wasn't feeling good so we say in the living room floor and watched TV and had some graham crackers. She leaned back on me while doing so. So sweet! She's usually not still very long.

We're spending this cold rainy morning inside trying to get to feeling better. We may be getting a tooth very soon!

Where has the week gone?

The weather has been so nice this week, that we have gone to the park twice!

Maddie got to swing for the first time and LOVED it.

I catch her standing by herself sometimes and she has decided to use her walking toy this way instead of walking behind it.

Yesterday I found her under the kitchen table like this...ha!

We went to the park again!:)

This morning I caught her licking her bowl of yogurt when it was empty. How in the world does she know this? So funny to me!

She likes playing with her dishes.
