6 years! All I can say is, WOW! Seems like it was only yesterday we were celebrating our one year in St. Louis and I was working at Arvest.
We had planned a great weekend in Kansas City, staying in downtown, shopping, water park. You name it! On Wednesday night I got a phone call from my grandmother(dad's mom) saying that my grandfather had died on the operating table after 10 hours of surgery. So, quickly we canceled our plans in Kansas City and headed to West Memphis.
Friday I spent the day with my grandma and family in Jonesboro. Then Saturday was our Anniversary. Little did I know what William had planned for us, since our plans were no longer in existence.
Us in downtown Memphis, starting off the morning.
We had planned on eatting breakfast at Mama's 39th Street Diner in Kansas City, so to try and make our day feel close to the same William found this little place in downtown. It is called Cockadoo's. It was very yummy! There drinks are served in Mason jars. William ordered sweet tea, and I would swear to you they made it with syrup. I love sweet tea and this was too sweet for me!
After breakfast we headed to the Wolfchase Galleria, for our shopping portion of the day. Granted, I know it wasn't close to what Kansas City would have been like but I did find some really good deals on clothes at Macy's!:)
After shopping we headed to lunch at Corky's, we had planned on eatting at Arthur Bryant's. Either way it was DELICIOUS!
We headed to our hotel, in downtown after lunch, to check in. This picture is on the rooftop of our hotel. It was beautiful!
After checking in, we headed for a River Boat Cruise. We were planning on going to Schlitterbahn's in Kansas City.

A view of the new bridge from the cruise.
We had a GREAT day all considered what had gone on the days prior and what would be happening the next few days.

Mama's on 39th was our favorite breakfast place when we lived in Kansas City. We went there at least once a week. Back then it was on Bell Street though. :-)
